The Material

Full-grain leather.
Nothing less.

Full-grain leather is the highest grade of leather — the top layer of the hide that retains all of the natural grain, making it the most durable and densest option available. It doesn't split, crack, or compress the way lower-grade leathers do under heavy use.

At 10 mm thickness, the SQUATRAT Leather Belt provides the kind of rigid wall against your core that creates an optimal environment for intra-abdominal pressure — the force that keeps your spine safe and your numbers going up.

Over time, the leather breaks in and conforms to your body shape, creating a belt that fits you specifically — no two are exactly the same after extended use.

What Makes It Different

Built for max-effort lifts.

13
cm Width
The maximum width permitted in most powerlifting federations. More surface area means more core coverage and more pressure where you need it most.
10
mm Thickness
The standard thickness for competition powerlifting belts. Rigid enough to resist compression under the heaviest loads, breaking in gradually to your exact torso shape.
1
Click. Done.
The hardened steel lever locks the belt in one fluid motion. One flick releases it. No threading, no fussing — just lift and move on.
The Lever System

One click. Locked in.

The lever closure is the defining feature of a serious powerlifting belt. Unlike a prong belt that requires threading through a hole every set, the lever snaps shut with one motion and opens with one flick — letting you keep your rest times tight and your focus on the next lift.

The lever is manufactured from hardened steel and mounted with hardware that won't loosen over repeated use. Once you set your tightness position, the belt locks there every single time — consistent intra-abdominal pressure, set after set.

If your training load changes or you adjust your preferred tightness, the lever position can be repositioned using standard tools in under a minute.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is this belt approved for powerlifting competitions?
The SQUATRAT Leather Belt is built to competition-spec dimensions (13 cm width, 10 mm thickness), which are within the legal limits of most major powerlifting federations including the IPF. Always verify your specific federation's rulebook before competition.
Does the leather belt need a break-in period?
Yes. Full-grain leather at 10 mm is stiff out of the box. Most athletes find it comfortable after 2–4 weeks of regular use as the leather softens and molds to the shape of their torso. This is normal and results in a belt that fits you specifically.
Can I adjust the lever tightness?
Yes. The lever can be repositioned to fine-tune tightness using standard tools. Once set, it clicks to the same position every time — giving you consistent intra-abdominal pressure without having to re-thread or guess.
Lever belt vs prong belt — what's the difference?
A lever belt closes with one click and opens with one flick — much faster than threading a prong through a hole. The tradeoff is that adjusting tightness by multiple notches requires repositioning the lever mechanism, whereas a prong belt lets you change holes every set. Most dedicated powerlifters prefer the lever for its speed and consistency.
How do I condition and care for the leather?
Allow the belt to air dry fully after sessions. Periodically apply a quality leather conditioner to prevent drying and cracking. Avoid soaking the leather in water. Stored correctly, a full-grain leather belt will last many years of heavy training.
